Great place! I got the jackfruit plate with a few sides. I was impressed with the taste of the food. Especially the beans! I wasn’t anticipating to be blown away by beans but they were seriously excellent. The place isn’t fancy but the food is top-notch. So much better than getting a meal at a vegan burger place. Prices were reasonable, as well.

This place is a wonderful vegan BBQ joint! Got to try Pure Grit BBQ at their pop-up stand at the Blues BBQ Festival at Hudson River Park! Their Impossible Brisket and Waffles were absolutely delicious! The coleslaw and Broccoli salad were great too! Staff was friendly and welcoming! I wish I came here earlier and that their prices were lower!

We loved it! Visited here for the first time during a vegan cheese and wine tasting they were hosting. Had to try the food so we ordered the Impossible Smoked Brisket with 2 sides (got mashed with gravy and cole slaw) for 18 and the Daring (our fave) chicken & waffles with the spicy maple syrup for 16. Definitely get the syrup for the extra 1. Every bite of everything was fantastic and was true BBQ. No animals needed to make it amazing! Will definitely return. If you like BBQ this is the spot. Owner and staff also friendly and will answer any questions. We're not gluten free but they had many options for that.

Thanks as always to experience a new venue in the city. Came on a Sunday afternoon after pre-ordering online and the meal was ready for pickup upon arrival. Sadly, they didn't have the Chocolate Chip cookie and subbed for a Peanut Butter one (only disappointment on the menu, was overcooked). Order the Backyard BBQ Chicken Side, Jackfruit Sandwich and the Sesame Pancit Noodle Bowl. Everything was delicious, only recommendation I'd have is to note that the Sesame Pancit Noodle bowl has cilantro on it which the sides I couldn't enjoy as a result. The Jackfruit sandwich was amazing and on the sweeter side..I'd order it again and try other vegan options on the menu. The music was great and I vibed the entire time I was in there. Service was also great and welcoming.

Learned about this restaurant on the FLIRTING with Vegan food tour. First we are omnivores and true foodies. We operate a food tour with authentic Cuban food.. but we are open to trying new flavors, combination of ingredients. This place was great. I was fascinated in learning the "vegan BBQ meat" is the unripened jackfruit. As a native Floridian I know what a jackfruit is. It's huge. But of course only tasted it when it's ripe. The shredded "meat" was cleverly cooked with BBQ sauce. Yes a bit heavy on vinegar side but that was great otherwise they tend to have loads of sodium which often makes vegan prepared foods unhealthy. So in this case it was healthy and tasty and I loved it. We met the chef who is from Austin Texas where they know BBQ and she appeared on the show Hells Kitchen. We had the Nachos. And can't wait to return to try their waffles and Mac-n- Cheese!

We ordered the Salmon Soul Bowl and the Backyard BBQ Chicken Bowl with sweet potatoes and garlic mushrooms. for delivery as an easy way to enjoy a mid-week dinner. Delivery windows made it flexible to select a time and food arrived on-time. Our dishes were great options for eating healthy while savoring delicious flavors! Would definitely recommend the pineapple habanero sauce!

Being a celiac vegan I find it super hard to find chickun options! The chicken sandwich as seen in my photos was so good I had to go back for more a second time while we were in NYC. Even the non celiacs in my life enjoyed the chicken so much! This will definitely be a MUST visit every time we are in NYC! I was lucky enough to meet the lady who owns the business and I couldn't be more excited that it's also women owned!
